IRAQI BANK HEAD KIDNAPPED
On February 17, 2006 newspapers and other media around the world carried the story
of the kidnapping of the Director General of the Basra International Bank. Ghulib Abdul
Hussain Kubba and his son were kidnapped. Two features were included in almost
every article or TV feature:
1. The kidnappers were dressed in the uniforms of Iraqi Special Forces.
2. No demand for money had yet been made.
Although no demand had been made for money most media dismissed any political
motivation for the kidnapping and insisted that the kidnapping was done in order to
obtain ransom money. Then I have been unable to find any follow up story of his
kidnapping.
There are a number of facts that may be very relevant to the story that are not being
told.
1. Kubba had left the main office of the Bank at Basra to assume control of the Bank's
office in Baghdad.
2. At the time of the capture many political murders were being committed in Basra.
Just in February 2006 over 40 murders were reported plus several kidnappings and
several more wounded.
3. Residents in Basra were extremely upset at the British occupation of their city.
Residents had been subject to widespread looting after the British military took over
their city. British soldiers simply stood around and watched. They claimed they did
not have sufficient personnel to even attempt to control the looting.
4. The Iraqi Special Forces were related to the Government of Iraq and many had been
trained by United States Military and Intelligence personnel.
5. The U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, John Negroponte, had an extensive record of
tolerating and/or creating death squads when he was U. S. Ambassador in Latin
America.
These facts did not seem to draw any attention in the coverage of the story. And there
has been no follow up on the story which looks to any of these possible questions.
Another possible connection is the Dubai connection. One of the branch offices of
the Basra International Bank is in Dubai of the United Arab Emirate. This has the same
name as the group attempting to buy United States ports. There are a lot of questions
which are not being raised.
Why would we want to place Iraq's currency under control of a U.S. based banking
system and then sell our ports to a neighbor of Iraq and one who helped train some of
the 9/11 terrorists?
What role has our Government played in the death squads?
What is our real intent in Iraq?
