The war in Iraq has many people angry, confused, upset, and feeling very helpless. This website is an attempt to address some of the issues which confuse us. The people of Iraq are even more angry. The first section of the website looks at some of the reasons they are and have a right to be angry. The problem is presented in a paper "Why Iraqis are (And Have A Right To Be) Angry." IRAQI ANGER One of the Iraqi bankers was kidnapped. He had links to western bankers. Almost no media coverage was given to this event. LOST BANKER The problem is looked at from an economic point of view. Who profits from the war? One of the profitable effects of the war is the spread of depleted uranium (DU). We look at this problem from several aspects: The United Nations position UN on DU What our Federal Government (OSHA) has to say OSHA on DU The hoarding of depleted uranium HOARDING DU Well versed response to DU Very good DVD Beyond Treason DU TAPE Response from Leuren Moret LEUREN MORET Leuren is well versed on DU. She worked for a corporation who was one of the leading disseminators of depleted Uranium. She has been under severe attack because of the "secrets" she has revealed about DU. There are many individuals and groups who are working to change the morass we are in. A few of the are mentioned in SOLUTIONS. SOLUTIONS In Louisiana we have been trying to do our part. Louisiana was the first state which passed a law requiring the U.S. Military to test all veterans who return from Iraq for possible contamination from depleted uranium. Since that time several other states have passed similar laws. For a look at the Louisiana law ACT 69 Two individuals are working in local schools telling our young people about conscientious objection. CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTION I have created a "Tower of Babel" which looks at the history of war and violence from the killing of Abel by his brother Cain to today. The display is unique in that it lists the event and then imagines what God's response to the event would be. TOWER BABEL I have also written a book Why We Are Always Broke which looks at the economics of war and violence. WHY BROKE The book is summarized in an "Economic Quiz" which is also on the website. ECONOMIC QUIZ Hope you find the website helpful and informative.
